Tech Troubleshooting Tips


Cannot get into Chrome: 

Shutdown the laptop by holding the power button and shift for the count of 10
Wait 30 seconds, then try to turn it back on
Go to launch.ocps.net
Click on Google Drive
Sign in with school credentials 
Sync data
Do not sign in with personal Gmail accounts 

Black Screen:
Plug the laptop in with power cord
Check if the charging light comes on
Shutdown the laptop by holding the power button and shift for the count of 10
Wait 30 seconds, then try to turn it back on
If it does not turn on
Set an appointment by calling the main school number 407-858-5522
Be on time
Bring laptop and charger
Maintain a 6-foot distance



Power Button not working:
Plug the laptop in with power cord
Check if the charging light comes on
Charge the laptop for 15 minutes
Try to turn on the laptop

Mouse not working:
Shutdown the laptop by holding the power button for the count of 10
Turn it back on
If the mouse works, then hand the laptop back to the student
If the mouse doesn’t work with Chrome but otherwise does on the laptop: 
Go to Chrome settings
Scroll to Advance Settings
Scroll to System
Uncheck the two boxes

Keyboard not working:
Restart the laptop by holding the power button for the count of 10
Turn it back on and try again

Computer moving slow/freezing:
Plug the laptop in with power cord
Restart the laptop by holding the power button and shift for the count of 10
Plug in Ethernet cord
Turn it back on
If it turned back on and updates, allowing the updates to run

Damaged Laptops: (Charges may apply)

If it does not turn on

Lost/stolen laptop: (Charges will apply)
Retrace your steps, ask family members, check last place used
Wait 24 hours before filing a police report, unless known to be stolen
Parents should file an online police report.
